It's a Monday in April. The new fiscal year is in full swing, and there's a fresh energy in the air. In yesterday's blog, our staff member Vianne shared her early struggles in Japan, like practicing how to ride a bicycle and feeling nervous at convenience stores. Knowing her hard work firsthand, I found it very moving.
1. 「翻訳」ではなく「解釈」が必要な不動産取引
Real Estate Transactions: Requiring "Interpretation," Not Just "Translation"
不動産のプロとして私が彼女たちに常に伝えているのは、「笑顔と語学力だけでは、お客様の大切な資産は守れない」ということです。
As a real estate professional, I always tell my team: "Smiles and language skills alone cannot protect our clients' precious assets."
外国人の方が日本で家を買う際、契約書や重要事項説明書には専門用語が並びます。これを単に英語やタガログ語に「翻訳」するだけでは不十分です。例えば、「長期優良住宅」という言葉。これを単に「Long-lasting house」と訳すだけでは、その真の価値は伝わりません。
When international residents buy a home in Japan, they face a wall of technical terms in contracts and disclosure statements. Simply "translating" these into English or Tagalog is not enough. For example, translating "Long-Life Quality Housing" (Choki Yuryo Jutaku) as just a "Long-lasting house" fails to convey its true value.

When an international client wonders, "Is this house truly safe?" I use blueprints to logically prove the structural integrity of Hajime Construction's 2-story homes. I train Vianne and Anna to translate my "architect's eye" into their respective languages and deliver it to our clients with 5-star hospitality.
